In July 2012, a group of local thugs abducted, threatened, and beat Vinh, who started a church in an undisclosed village in Central Vietnam. Using a lead pipe, the leader of the gang struck Vinh several times on his knees and twice on his jaw. The pastor was hospitalized for several weeks.

The incident took place two days after pastor Vinh attended an Open Doors pastoral training program in Ho Chi Minh City. “He was one of the most promising students in the class,” explained by Vinh’s spiritual mentor. “He was very passionate to share God’s word and had a deep love for Jesus.”

Pastor Vinh is only 24 years old and in great need of encouragement. Today, you can actually write him a letter of encouragement.
